A Little More About Us:

We have spent the last two decades at the forefront of digital audio production, including having a hand in developing a lot of the technology that is widely used today. And we still love (almost) every minute of it.

Special Audio Post-Production Projects:

We've had the good fortune of working on some very interesting projects over the years which stretch outside the 'normal' definition of Audio Post-Production.

Chronicles Of Riddick

For this Universal Pictures film, supervising sound-designer Scott Gershin wanted to pull from a unique palette, and had the idea to use musical instruments as sources. Knowing that Noisy Neighbors' arsenal of musical instruments is massive and unique, he contacted his old friend Rob Arbittier to discuss collaborating on some sound design at Noisy Neighbors' facilities.

Over several days, Scott and Rob and sound-designer Peter Zinda went through Noisy Neighbors' huge array of instruments, putting together an incredible library of sounds. So Chronicles Of Riddick, a great-sounding film, owes it amazing sound as much to guitars and drum machines as to traditional film sound sources.

Michael Jackson's Super Bowl Halftime Show

Unlike in many previous years, Super Bowl XXVII in 1993 had only one artist performing in the Halftime show, Michael Jackson. He was at the peak of his popularity, so much so that Fox didn't even do any counter-programming to NBC's Halftime coverage as they had in previous years.

Michael's show was going to be a huge entrance followed by a medley of some of his hits. His entrance was to involve multiple giant video screens and a lot of sound-design. As Michael appeared on the screens, there were loud music cues, explosions and other effects, all interwoven with swirling helicopters. Having worked in the studio with Michael on many occasions, Noisy Neighbors was brought in to do the sound-design for the show, as well as to help assemble the backing tracks for the medley Michael would perform. This was not a simple assignment for many reasons, including the fact that Michael needed us to smoothly transition between songs in different keys and at different tempos.

Devil Girl

Devil Girl is a strange, fun, quirky psychological thriller. It also represented the first time Noisy Neighbors was involved with EVERY aspect of a post-production sound job, a 'soup-to-nuts' assignment. Working closely with director Howie Askins, we did sound-design, effects recording, effects editing, adr, foley, additional music composition, music editing, and the final mix, M&E and encoding.

A Little More About Us:

We have spent the last two decades at the forefront of digital audio production, including having a hand in developing a lot of the technology that is widely used today. And we still love (almost) every minute of it.

Special Music Projects:

We've had the good fortune of working on some very interesting projects over the years which stretch outside the 'normal' definition of Music Composition and Production.

Woodstock: Twenty-Fifth Anniversary Collection

The original audio masters from Woodstock were recorded on 1" 8-track tape. For the 25th anniversary in 1994, we were commissioned to restore and remix these masters for a collector's edition box set of CDs. Some of the masters had been damaged in a flood, some were missing for unknown reasons. We brought together all the masters, cleaned and restored them, and found cloned copies of some of the tapes that were missing. The record company even got Pete Townsend to send us his copies of The Who's Woodstock performances.

We spent a lot of time repairing the technical problems with the masters, being careful not to 'clean up' any of the grittyness of the recordings which is a big part of their charm.

It was an incredible experience being able to hear Jimi Hendrix's guitar solo'd, or Janis Joplin or Joe Cocker's vocal mic isolated. We mixed four CDs worth of material which is still available as a boxed set.

The Heineken Experience

The Heineken Experience is an amazing museum and one of the most successful tourist attractions in all of Europe. It is built in one of Heineken's old factories which was entirely renovated to house it. It features four levels of interactive experiences including a historic Brew Room, an exhaustive look at quality ingredients and the brewing process, a chance to star in your own video and a chance to get your own personalized bottle of Heineken.

One of the man interactive attractions in the museum is an immersive motion-simulator film called 'Brew U'. During this show, the viewer is brought through the entire Heineken brewing experience as if they were being turned into beer. We wrote the original music for this adventure which, at the end, invites the audience to move into a club-like environment where they get free samples of Heineken.

High School Musical 1, 2 and 3 Video Games

High School Musical is one of Disney's most successful franchises. When it was time to develop video games based around High School Musical 1, 2 and 3, Disney realized how important the quality of the music in the games would be. Due to licensing issues, they would not be using the original recordings from the films, so they would need to do very accurate sound-alikes.

We were brought in to not only coordinate the arranging and recording of the music and vocals from several other producers as well as ourselves, but were responsible for every aspect from casting to final mixing and mastering to come as close to the originals as possible.

World Expo 2010 Shanghai - USA Pavilion

The World Expo 2010 in Shanghai, China has been visited by over 73 million people. The huge USA Pavilion at The Expo was a massive attraction, like a city within a city. It featured many multimedia activities and we were commissioned to write original music for several of these.
